You know how some countries are famous for their national cuisine, ancient monuments, or unique wildlife? Well, thanks to Hannes Coudenys, Belgium is known for its hilariously ugly houses. A few years ago, the man started documenting all of the ugly houses he managed to spot around Belgium and now has a following of over 100k people who anxiously wait for his latest post.
In a recent interview with Bored Panda, the man said that a big part of the success of his page was the project he has been for Belgian TV. Hannes would ring the doors of the ugly houses and ask the owners if they know they made it to the Ugly Belgian Houses page before telling them it’s his own website. Hannes has even released a book hilariously titled Ugly Belgian houses: don’t try this at home and says that a lot of tourists buy it when visiting Belgium.” We sold about 20,000 copies which is quite big in our small country of 10 million people,” said the man.
