Teen Filmmaker Recreates Iconic Movie Scenes With LEGO In A Brilliant Stop-Motion Video
Morgan Spence is a 15-year-old aspiring filmmaker who spent three weeks recreating scenes from several celebrated Hollywood classics using LEGO figurines and bricks in a short video for his “Brick Flicks“ project. In collaboration with LEGO masterbuilder Warren Elsmore, Spence LEGO-ified famous scenes like the “I‘m flying!” scene from Titanic, the dance lift scenes from Dirty Dancing, and the classic terrifying axe scene from The Shining.
The teenage filmmaker used the original soundtrack and voice-over from the movies he remade, bringing more authenticity to his work. To top it all off, he combined all the scenes in a LEGO Academy Awards ceremony that presented his short clips as nominees for Best Film. Goosebumps guaranteed!
The young talent discovered his interest in stop-motion filmmaking back in 2011, when he created a film for a WWII project at school. He later decided to combine filmmaking with his passion for LEGO, which obviously came out great. He has even created a LEGO stop-motion video for DJ Paul Oakenfold. Unsurprisingly, the young artist plans to choose filmmaking as his future career.
