Photographer Shows That Breastfeeding In Public Is Nothing To Be Ashamed Of
Breastfeeding in public is causing quite the hubbub these days. Lithuanian born Ivette Ivens is doing her best to bring breastfeeding into public life. Her photography shows mothers feeding their children, anytime, anywhere. Different demographics and walks of life are represented.
Ivens knows the realities of breastfeeding. “[Breastfeeding] can be messy, uncomfortable and even painful at times, but the mother’s inner consciousness tells another story,” she told Huffington Post , claiming that her photography aims to capture that inner feeling.
Ivette Ivens specializes in family photography, and is also a proponent of extended breastfeeding. In her opinion, the mother and child know the best time to wean. Ivens photography works are so popular that’s she’s now publishing a book called Breastfeeding Goddess .
