Fans Are Devastated After Jason Momoa Shaves His Beard For The First Time In 7 Years
Most Game of Thrones fans recognize Jason Momoa, the actor who plays Khal Drogo, by his lush long hair and beard. However, recently the actor shocked fans everywhere by shaving his beard, that he had been sporting for over 7 years, for a good cause. Momoa even shared a video of the process on his Youtube channel and so far it has been watched over 3.2 million times!

In the video, shot in a desert, the actor is saying goodbye to all of the bearded characters he played throughout the years. He shows the viewers a few cans of drinks, saying that shaving in the desert is thirsty work and delivers an important message about recycling. And just like that, after a few minutes, the beard all of us recognize so well is gone.
The actor says he shaved the beard to bring awareness that plastics are ruining our planet – but he thinks he has a solution. “I don’t want to bitch about it,” says Jason. “There’s only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet as long as we recycle, and that’s aluminum . It’s 100 percent recyclable.”
This is not the first time facial hair is used to promote a good cause and one good example of that is ‘ Movember ‘ – an annual event held throughout November that encourages men to grow a mustache to raise awareness of men’s health issues. One of their slogans even say “Grow a mo, save a bro”.
“I’m shaving this beast off, it’s time to make a change,” says the actor as he’s shaving his beard. “A change for the better…for my kids, your kids, the world. Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet.”
“Let’s clean up our oceans, our land. Join me on this journey. Let’s make the switch to infinitely recyclable aluminum.”
