Every Day, This Ukrainian Woman Dresses In 19th Century Outfits (30 Pics)
Have you ever look at some photos from the early 19th century and wished people still dresses as dapper as they did back then? Well, turns out some people still do! Just take Mila Povoroznyuk, a Ukrainian woman who dresses up in beautiful 19th century outfits every day, for example.
In a recent interview with Bored Panda , Mila said she got involved in historical reconstruction 12 years ago. She began sewing her own outfits for medieval festivals and 19th century balls, before starting to wear these outfits every day around two years ago. “The first piece of clothing in the style of the 19th century which I started wearing in my everyday life was a blue autumn coat. It was made 8 years ago,” said the woman. “I naturally started selecting harmonious things that would go with it. My wardrobe was gradually filling with vintage items.”

The woman says she finds her inspiration on Pinterest, Google, and old magazines from the 19th century. She either thrifts or sews her unique outfits, and finds accessories in people’s personal collections and flea markets.
Mila loves Victorian fashion but says that the Edwardian era fashion from the early 1900s is her favorite. “The suffragette movements began during that period. I think that all women should be grateful for this period for the rights and opportunities that we have today,” said the woman.

When asked how people react to her outfits, the woman said that it’s based on the person’s upbringing and their psycho-emotional development. “It should be added that a person’s reaction to a stimulus (light, noise, a person in unusual clothes) is influenced by temperament, character, mentality,” explained Mila. She categorizes the people she meets into two categories: tolerant people with a high level of intelligence and psycho-emotional development, and those who are disrespectful and psycho-emotionally immature.

Mila says she dresses like someone from the 19th century simply because she likes it. “Life is too short to be wasted in fear,” says the woman. “You need to live for yourself and not think about what others will think about you.”

One day, this guy just kind of figured - “I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?” - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that’s trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that’s too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!
