Artist Reveals Her Extremely Gorgeous Sketchbook

No notebook is safe from abstract doodling. Yet we all could learn a thing or two from these sketches by Sophie Roach. Her style is based on spontaneity and rhythm, filling the page with dense, colorful lines and shapes. It’s a playful style that also has a slight austere feeling to it.

Sophie Roach is a Texas-based illustrator and graphic designer. In her own words, she discovered her sketching nature “when she was supposed to be paying attention to lectures at the University of Washington” . Her doodles can be seen on t-shirts, bandannas and stickers.

She has also done a mural and one her images had made its way onto a double-decker bus. It’s likely the biggest the legal doodle ever done.
