A Rake’s Progress. A modern version of satirical paintings.
William Hogarth created ‘A Rakes progress’ in the 18th century it revolved around a young man named Tom who attained money, lost it, gained it again, lost it all once again and eventually ended up in a psychiatric hospital. Tom inherits his new wealth.
Tom attracts ‘the right people’ and starts to spend his money..
Tom wastes all his money on drink,drugs and free women..
Tom crashes his rolls royce in a drunken police chase, when he crashes he threatens a bailiff with a gun.
After losing all his money for the first time.. He marries a rich spinster (very old woman)
Tom loses his second amount of wealth through gambling and debauchery.
Tom ends up a broken man and is sent to prison.
Tom is finally committed to a psychiatric hospital.
