50 Breathtaking Drone Pictures From This Years Dronestagram Photo Contest
Dronestagram is a photography community, founded over 5 years ago, where people share their best drone photos. Every year they host a contest and award the best drone photographs of the year. Recently, the 2018 winners have been announced and their photos will take your breath away.
This year, over 5000 photos were submitted to the contest and the winners were chosen by a panel of 6 experts, including Ken Geiger, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer, and Jean-Pierre Vrignaud the editor in chief of National Geographic France. In an interview with Bored Panda, Eric, one of the panel members, described how they choose the best pictures: “A good drone picture must have a strong verticality and also show scenes close up, from a view that can only be taken by a drone. Then it must be artistic in its approach and style and if possible show life with humans or animals.”
One advice Eric had for beginners, was to learn to fly a drone before starting to take pictures. “You can learn and train with a small and robust $50 drone, then once you know how to fly it, invest in a good camera drone. Try to fly in the countryside, and respect the local rules and laws!”

Aušrys Uptas
One day, this guy just kind of figured - “I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?” - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that’s trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that’s too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!
