Today horses are not treated better, they are killed off in cruel ways when people declare them useless. I have two adopted from rescue shelters. Anybody breeding horses beyond demand, starving and neglecting own horses, sending off horses to kill pens, or climbing in helicopters to kill them, should be forbidden to ever even lay eyes on a horse. And that includes getting all mushy about “war horses”.
