The Close-up Photographer of the Year (CUPOTY) competition celebrates the intricate beauty of the world through macro and micro photography. In its sixth edition, the 2024 contest attracted nearly 12,000 entries from 67 countries, showcasing the remarkable talent of photographers who capture the often-overlooked details of our surroundings.
Hungarian photographer Csaba Daróczi was awarded the title of Close-up Photographer of the Year for his mesmerizing shot of a Eurasian nuthatch in flight, taken from within a hollowed-out tree stump.
