25 Dolls Crafted To Represent Children With Rare Conditions
In a world where toys often reflect generic ideals, A Doll Like Me is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children feel seen, valued, and represented. Run by Amy Jandrisevits, this organization has one mission: to create custom dolls for children with unique physical differences, medical conditions, and disabilities so they can see themselves reflected in the dolls they hold close.
When children see themselves reflected in their toys, it fosters a sense of belonging and boosts self-confidence. Many of the children who receive dolls from A Doll Like Me are living with conditions that can feel isolating. Having a doll that mirrors their appearance helps normalize their experiences, sending the message that they, too, are beautiful and worthy of representation.
