15 Times This Makeup Artist Created Stunning Art By Using Lips As Her Canvas

Vlada Haggerty is a makeup artist based in Los Angeles, popular for her amazing lip art skills. In an interview with DeMilked , Vlada told us that she started using her lips as a canvas around 7 years ago. “I didn’t know any photographers or models at the time because I was still new to the city, so out of necessity, I decided to do everything myself,” she said.

The artist further explained to us, “Lip art is my own kind of meditation. I get to turn off my thinking brain when I work and it is really helpful for my mental health. Something about the tedious work of creating lip art helps my mind relax and I can pause all of my worries for a few hours. Vlada said, “I have loved makeup since I was a little girl. I used to play with my mom’s makeup all the time. Makeup artistry became my passion in my mid-20s.”

“At first, I wanted to learn how to do my own makeup, but it quickly became what I did for a living. My eyes are very sensitive and I don’t love wearing eye makeup, but I can spend hours painting my lips without any discomfort. Plus, at the time it was a new field and there was so much to explore creatively,” she added.
