10 Adulthood Comics Which Are Too Relatable
When Caitlin Quijano got hit by a quarter-life crisis, she started making comics to express how she felt about adulthood. The young woman based in Edmonton, Canada, began these drawings “as a means of coping mechanism and just never stopped” – and we’re glad she continued because most of her comics are “relatable AF”. Yup. We feel you sista.
“When I started drawing them, we [Quijano and her husband] had gotten married, moved across the country, and started our first ‘real’ post-grad jobs, and adulthood was hitting me like a ton of bricks,” she told Revelist .
The 27-year-old says that her comics are very much based on her personal experiences – the girl in the purple shirt is her, and the guy in the green shirt is her husband. “Kayla is basically an exaggerated version of myself, and green-shirt guy is the voice of reason — a relatively accurate depiction of our life.”
When interviewed for deMilked , Quijano said: “I want to convey the message that, if you’re struggling, you’re not alone.” She added: “I would tell anyone dealing with a quarter-life crisis, if you’re worried about your life, that’s a good sign. It means you’re not going to stagnate. Use it as a fuel to figure out what you really want from life.”
